Yard Sale Chairs

This past weekend I got these great chairs! I know that you WONT believe me, but truth be told. This was the last yard sale that we went to before finishing around 11:30am. This is the same sale that I got the Christmas tree for my office below! Anyway, the man said to me" how about a chair" I said"how much" -course I was thinking these are WAY over priced if they are still here. $3 bucks he says! NO LIE! I was like...."YEA....I will take THEM!" I got both chairs for 6 dollars! I am very excited to try to recover them. I was reading on another blog how she recovered hers like this and I know I can do it too!!! Can wait to show the the afters in a while.

BUSY Busy

Its been a very busy week. No big furniture painting this week! My booth is full and I am thrilled! I have been working around the house getting ready for our big Thanksgiving day. I had one little project that was a cool little makeover to share. I have this wine rack over my kitchen bar. It was a red color with the little french guy at the bottom. Its become outdated in my kitchen and I was looking for something more sophisticated. A few hits with a Carmel Latte Spray paint and there I have a nice new wine rack. Plus I stamped the bottom with a cute bee. It looks like a custom high dollar wine holder now!!
I am SAVING something SOOOOO Special for SHOW and Tell Friday. I can HARDLY stand it! Its probably the most valuable yard sale find to date, for the price paid. I can not wait to show you!!! If you are into Shabby Chic, you will want to come back for this one!

The Chair

Last week I showed you the pretty green desk that I painted a few posts down. But I was not able to show you the chair. Here is the chair with the desk. This chair was free, since it was a chair my mother had around her house in the garage. It had a horrible red fake pleather seat, and the wood had been through alot. A little paint and new fabric made this little chair a perfect match with my $30.00 Goodwill desk!

A great Yard Sale Find

A few weeks ago I got these GREAT ladder back chairs. I bought 6 of them for 20 bucks. They were tattered and had paint splatters on them here and there. I, once again, did not get a before photo-I will get better at that, but, I am so happy at how they came out! HOW CUTE they are in a light lemon!!
Here they are in my booth around a beautiful oak table!

Whew-What a day!

Well, I have been feeling a little blue these past few days since the job I have been at for over a year and a half laid me off a few days. I work as a Physical Therapist Assistant at a nursing facility. The case load has gotten really low, so for the first time in a year and a half, they decided to lay me off a few days till the case load comes up. Since I am Part time, I am the first to go.
So, I have been staying very busy around the house painting furniture and sewing on my new machine. I am going back tomorrow for a half day. I feel a bit like I should have been eating bon bons yesterday and today and watching Soap Operas, rather than using my new paint gun with my dad today. I am SO tired tonight. We painted all day, and I really cant wait to post more photos. Unfortunately, I do not have many before photos for you. This photo below is a set I just finished. Believe it or not I picked up this cute gem last weekend in the rain at a yard sale for 10 bucks! We gave it the white tx, and I covered the stools with a Soft Burlap fabric ($2.00 a yard at Walmart) and took a stab at stamping the tops. I then came home tonight and sewed a small runner, that is reversible! So proud of myself! BUT TIRED! ha! Big weekend coming up for yard sales and Open house at the Antique mall where my booth is!!! YEA!!! I can hardly keep my eyes open but it Grey's Anatomy night!

NO School-DAY OFF!

Since the kids had the day of from school, I also took the day off work! I was enjoying my time today for sure! First I went with my 6 year old and voted, then it was off to Goodwill, followed by Micheal's. The rest of the afternoon was spent on what ever my hearts desire felt like, in addition to what my children wanted as well of course! Madison, my 6 year old decided that she wanted a chalk board in her room. So we made one of those with an old photo that used to hang in my den that we found in the shed that i had put away! I also worked on my new sewing machine and made a few fun little pillows filled with cotton and lavender buds. Let me know what you think?? I love them and now have them all over my office!

HELLLOOOO Sunday.....

Hope you had a GREAT Halloween! OH my gosh have I been busy this weekend!! With an extra hour to play on Sunday I have left no hour unturned! On top of delivering both kids to Birthday parties today, I have managed to play with my sewing machine, cover 4 chairs, and shop for a few hours at Walmart and Micheal's so I could play with my new sewing machine!! Then I have ALMOST finished my Craigslist desk to go in my little booth! Here are some photos....

First this morning I recovered our 4 dining room chairs. As you can see they were just a mess from the kids spilling and dropping things on them as toddlers. I have tried to keep them clean over the last few years, but they have just become stained and I could look at them like that no longer!

I got the new fabric for $24.00 on remnant sale. It covered 4 chairs and 2 bar stools(i will tackle the bar stools this week). I thought it was a GREAT deal!
Hubby Installing the new seats back to the chairs
Just Beautiful!

THEN....

I have just about finished my craigslist desk that I got a few weeks ago. I feel like I paid too much for this desk originally, but I am feeling abit better now that it is done and I will be able to get my money back out of it I know. I am VERY happy with the way it came out!

Show and Tell Friday

I have soooo been waiting all week to show you this little beauty I picked up on Craigslist for 75 bucks! I thought it was a really great deal when i saw a photo of it. But seeing it in person was just another thing. This solid oak desk exceeded all my expectations. It is basically mint condition and just glows with beauty. You might be thinking that I am going to paint it. No way. Not yet any way. I would like to enjoy it on its own beauty for a while. I am showing this for Show and Tell Friday, cause I got such a great darn deal on such a BEAUTY!! YIPPEEEE!!!!!!
